Born in Toronto, trained in New York at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and now based in Montréal, Merryn is a freelance dancer, teacher & rehearsal director. Along with her colleagues
Roxane Duchesne-Roy and Susan Paulson, Merryn cofounded the unique project Le Broke Lab: a series of micro-laboratories
of research, exploration and creation with artists from all disciplines. She is collaborating and performing with freelance choreographer Audrey Bergeron, with Lydia Bouchard on the show Le
Monde est Fou, (Cirque du Soleil, 2015), and is proud to work as rehearsal director with Destins Croisés.
Merryn performed and collaborated over six years with Cas Public (Hélène Blackburn), in addition to teaching the company while on tour and working briefly as rehearsal director. She has
collaborated with Cirque Éloize and performed in a production by Robert Lepage/Ex-Machina (choreography by Johanne Madore). Merryn has also worked with American choreographers Peter London, Troy
Powell and Takehiro Ueyama, Paris Opera’s Alexandre Proia, and New York-based Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company.
On the administrative side, Merryn is an artistic advisor of Bad Posture Productions, a dance-film production company based in Berlin. We also see her featured in many of their films. With
Springboard Danse Montréal, Merryn is the assistant to the artistic director Alexandra Wells, director of communications, and a member of the Board of Advisors. Merryn has had the pleasure of
touring and collaborating in many countries including Canada, France, Germany, Holland, Japan, Korea, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, and the United States.
